Packaging is a procurement decision
Most counter-drone programmes fail at the seams: the radar is from one supplier, the jammer from another, the C2 from a third, and the integration contract from a fourth. Fortem, Aselsan and Meteksan all sell integrated suites, which is the right instinct. Ours goes one step further by including three interceptor sizes and the pod that carries them, so the defeat layer arrives with the sensors rather than in a later phase.
One interceptor is not a counter-swarm system
Fortem's man-portable brief is admirably specific: 89 kg carried by two people, one DroneHunter in a hard case, mitigation from 0.5 to 3 km, four hours per battery set. That protects a patrol base against an intruder. It does not answer twenty airframes arriving together. Counter-swarm means several effectors in the air at once, which is why the pod carries compact, tactical and extended-range interceptors rather than one premium airframe.
Where we owe you numbers
Meteksan publishes 2.5 km detection, Fortem publishes 2 to 3.5 km and 50 simultaneous tracks. We publish coverage and capability rather than distances. That is a fair criticism and the figures for a quoted configuration are available on request. What we will not do is print a number that has not been measured on the radar you are actually buying.

How does a pod-deployed counter-swarm system compare with Aselsan İHTAR 100 on procurement terms?
Technically İHTAR 100 is strong, with a Ku-band radar scanning 360 degrees at 30 rpm, thermal and HD day cameras and a C2 that runs threat evaluation and effector allocation. Commercially it is Turkish state-linked industry: ASELSAN's own datasheets identify it as a Turkish Armed Forces Foundation company. Deliveries, spares and upgrades follow Ankara's foreign policy. We are non-aligned, and the sustainment stock is held in your country.
Do I need kinetic interceptors if I already have a jammer-based counter-drone system?
Yes, if you expect autonomous or fibre-controlled drones. KAPAN and İHTAR both use RF jamming as the neutralisation effector, and jamming acts on links and satellite navigation. Aselsan's own answer to that gap is to integrate the ŞAHİN 40 mm gun, effective to 700 m. Our pods carry the kinetic layer inside the same system rather than as a separate procurement.
What detection range should I expect from a pod-deployed system?
We publish 360 degree, 24/7, all-weather EOIR and radar coverage with swarm tracking, not a distance, because the figure depends on the radar fitted and the target size. For benchmarking, Meteksan publishes up to 2.5 km for KAPAN and Fortem 2 to 3.5 km against Group 1 and 2 drones in the man-portable configuration.
