What buyers actually shortlist, set side by side. Every competitor figure on these pages is taken from the manufacturer's own published document and cited, and where a vendor does not state a figure we say so rather than guess.

Product comparisons put named systems next to each other, with the competing options cited rather than paraphrased. When a requirement has narrowed to two or three real products, this is where the argument gets specific. Everything rests on sources you can check.

FN and IWI both publish a lighter empty weapon than most 7.62 machine guns, and both are combat-proven. What their datasheets leave to the quotation is the spare barrel, the mount kit and the export approval, which is where a section weapon's real cost and real risk sit.

Our column comes from the specifications published on this site. The competitor columns come from the vendor's own datasheets and manuals, listed in full under Sources with the date each document was retrieved. Nothing is estimated, inferred or averaged.

A vendor who does not publish a figure gets a blank, not a low score. Read those rows as an absence of published data, not as a weakness. Where a specification matters to your requirement, the briefing covers it directly.

Named systems, cited sources

A comparison is only as trustworthy as its references. These pages name the competing products and point to where the claims come from, so a buyer is not asked to take a vendor's word or ours on faith.

Where these fit in a decision

Use the capability comparisons to settle the approach, then use these to settle the product. By this stage you know which effect you want; the question is which specific system delivers it best in your conditions and under your constraints.

Grouped by domain

The comparisons are sorted by the environment the systems fight in, so a land buyer is not wading through naval matchups. Each grouping stays close to a real shortlist a programme office might hold.

Honest about limits

Where a competing figure is unverified or contested, the comparison says so instead of quietly favouring the system we can sell. A product comparison that inflates our side would collapse at acceptance testing, which helps no one, least of all the buyer who trusted it.

Sovereignty belongs in a product comparison too. Two systems may match on paper and diverge entirely on who controls the supply of spares and software. Where that gap exists, we surface it, because a system you cannot keep running under sanction is not the equal of one you can.
