Cyberbit and SimSpace both build high-fidelity replicas and both publish more training metrics than we do. Neither publishes a range built around a ship's bridge, its navigation systems and its OT, which is the environment a maritime defender has to survive in.
Our ranges run live-fire exercises on replicas of the defender's own environment, including a maritime range built from real bridge, navigation and OT systems with real protocols and PLCs. It is used for crew training, certification and equipment research rather than as a demonstration environment.

What the table means
Generic fidelity is still generic
Cyberbit and SimSpace both solved the hard part of range building: replicate the customer's own network, bring their real security stack, generate traffic that looks like people working. That is the correct approach and we use it too. The limit shows when the estate is not an office. A bridge team defending an ECDIS, a navigation bus and a set of PLCs cannot rehearse on a Windows domain with emulated corporate users. Our maritime range is built from those systems, with the protocols they actually speak, which is why it also serves equipment research and not only training.
What a range records about you
Running an exercise programme means handing a supplier a working model of your defences and a performance record for every analyst who plays. Cyberbit is a subsidiary of Elbit Systems. SimSpace states it was founded by people from US Cyber Command and MIT Lincoln Laboratory, which is a credential and a disclosure at the same time. Neither fact makes those platforms bad; both are relevant if you are a ministry deciding where the model of your national SOC will be hosted, and by whom it can be inspected.
Measurement is where we are behind
Cyberbit publishes auto-scoring and evaluation tooling and claims 20+ training centres. SimSpace publishes four outcome percentages attributed to customers. We publish after-action review and certification pathways, with no numbers attached. Training that is not measured is difficult to defend at budget time, so this is a real gap rather than a stylistic one, and it is on our list to fix.

What is the best cyber range for maritime and ship OT training?

The published evidence is vendor-generated, so treat it carefully. SimSpace's customers report a 45% improvement in attack and defence performance and 48% better time to detect. Cyberbit points to 20+ training centres running thousands of trainees a year. Our own case is qualitative: repeated exposure to realistic attack builds the muscle memory that holds up when a live system is under pressure. We do not publish a percentage, and we would rather not invent one.
Should a cyber range be hosted on-premises or in the cloud?
Cyberbit sells both, an on-premises enterprise range and a browser-delivered cloud range. The decision is rarely technical. A range contains a working replica of your defences and a scored record of how your people perform, so the question is which jurisdiction that model may sit in and who can compel access to it. For a national SOC or a defence ministry, that usually settles it.
