Two of the best AML engines in the world will not tell you who is inside your payment network tonight.
NICE Actimize and Feedzai are serious compliance platforms with published detection architectures. We are a defence team for financial infrastructure that happens to run an AML engine, which is a different proposition and worth being precise about.
This is production work rather than a pilot: platforms behind 7.5 billion accounts, payment and mobile-money systems defended in real time, and an AML engine already cutting case triage from weeks to minutes. The same team red-teams those live payment networks and then hardens them.

| Scope of the offer13The competitors defend against financial crime committed through the bank. We also defend against intrusion into the bank. Most institutions need both and buy them separately. | Real-time threat response for payment networks, mobile-money platforms and AML engines, plus red teaming of those same live systems | A financial-crime compliance suite: SAM9 transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD, WL-X watchlist screening and STAR regulatory reporting | AML transaction monitoring with alert triage, investigation workflow and suspicious-activity reporting |
| Published scale13 | 7.5 billion accounts secured across cross-border payment and financial platforms | Not published in the brochure | No absolute figure. The guide claims handling of up to 50 times more transactions and entities relative to a prior baseline |
| Detection method13 | Graph analytics, transformer models and LLM agents | Transaction monitoring with adaptive real-time entity resolution across transaction, screening and KYC risk | Individual behavioural profiling (described as Segment of One) rather than cohort profiling, with dynamic thresholds across four key thresholds and machine-learning alert prioritisation |
| Case handling speed13 | Case triage reduced from weeks to minutes | Not published in the brochure | SAR filing claimed up to 20 times faster; clicks to complete a compliance task reduced from an average of 22 to as few as 5 |
| Regulatory filing13 | Not published | STAR automates regulatory filing | SAR Manager generates reports in standard formats accepted across jurisdictions, auto-populating from case data |
| Screening and onboarding modules13 | Not published | WL-X watchlist screening and KYC/CDD are named modules in the suite | Not covered in this solution guide |
| Model explainability and change control13Feedzai's documented change control is a genuine advantage in a supervised environment and we do not currently match it in published form. | Not published as a mechanism | Not published in the brochure | Whitebox explanations generated per decision, a 4-eyes check requiring two approvers for rule changes, and a full audit trail across defined analyst, QA, manager and MLRO roles |
| Deployment options13 | Not published | On-premises or cloud | Not published in the solution guide |
| Adversary testing of the platform itself13 | Hardened by red-team engagements against live payment networks | Not published | Not published |
| Origin and political exposure23 | Independent, non-aligned origin, with no political exposure to any major-power ecosystem | NICE Ltd., with headquarters listed in Ra'anana, Israel and Hoboken, New Jersey | Portugal |

What the table means
Compliance software and financial defence are different purchases
A regulator asks whether you filed the report. An attacker does not care. NICE Actimize and Feedzai are built for the first question and built well: named modules for monitoring, screening, onboarding and filing, with Feedzai documenting the analyst roles and approval controls a supervisor will want to inspect. Our starting point is the network the money moves across. We defend it in real time, we break into it deliberately under contract, and the AML engine sits inside that same picture rather than beside it.
Explainability is where a buyer should push us hardest
Feedzai publishes whitebox explanations per decision and a two-approver control on rule changes. In a supervised institution that is not a nice-to-have, it is the difference between defending a model to a regulator and arguing with one. We describe graph analytics, transformers and LLM agents, and we state a triage improvement from weeks to minutes. What we have not yet published is how an analyst sees why a case scored the way it did, and how a rule change is authorised. Ask for that before you sign anything, including with us.
Who else can read your transaction data
Every AML platform ingests the most sensitive data a country's financial system produces. The relevant question is not only where it is hosted but whose government can compel disclosure from the vendor, and whose export or sanctions policy could interrupt support. Actimize sits inside NICE Ltd. with Israeli and US headquarters; Feedzai is Portuguese and therefore inside the EU regime. Our origin is non-aligned and we have no obligation to report what we find to anyone but you.
Questions buyers ask
What is the best AML platform for a bank that cannot use a US or EU vendor?
Look first at whether you are buying compliance tooling or financial defence. If it is purely compliance modules, NICE Actimize and Feedzai are strong and you should be honest about what replacing them costs you: named screening and filing modules, and in Feedzai's case a documented approval and audit model. If your concern is that the payment network itself is a target, our AML engine comes attached to a team that defends 7.5 billion accounts in production and red-teams live payment networks.
How much can AI actually reduce AML case triage time?
Our engine takes case triage from weeks to minutes using graph analytics, transformers and LLM agents. Feedzai publishes comparable directional claims for its own stack, including SAR filing up to 20 times faster and a reduction in clicks per task from around 22 to as few as 5. Treat all such numbers, ours included, as vendor-stated until you have run them against your own alert volume with your own false-positive tolerance.
Does AML software protect a payment network from being hacked?
No, and the confusion is expensive. Transaction monitoring watches money moving through accounts. It does not see an intruder in the switch, a compromised operator credential, or malware staged on a settlement host. Those need security operations, which is the other half of what we do and is not in either competitor's AML documentation.
Can an AML engine run inside our own jurisdiction with no data leaving the country?
NICE Actimize publishes on-premises and cloud deployment options, so an in-country deployment is available. Feedzai's solution guide does not state deployment topology. We have not published our own deployment options, which is a fair gap to hold us to. If national data residency is a hard requirement, put it in the tender as a pass or fail condition and make every bidder answer it in writing.
