Modularity is a claim until you see the payload catalogue behind it.

Milrem and Rheinmetall both publish long lists of mission modules for one chassis, from fire monitors to remote weapon stations. Our modular ground platform makes the same promise with a different backbone: field-swapped modules controlled through the same layer as the air systems, from a supplier with no political conditions attached.

In service, not experimental

Our modular ground platform is in service on routes and in environments where the path ahead is uncertain, not on a test track. Mission modules are exchanged by the users, in the field, as part of normal operations.

What the table means

Both incumbents have earned the word modular

Milrem's catalogue runs from a mortar carrier to a 3,000 litre-per-minute fire monitor on the same family of chassis. Rheinmetall's brochure states plainly that any Mission Master can take any mission profile, and backs it with a shared 1,000 kg payload figure across three very different vehicles. If a buyer wants a published module catalogue to point at in a board paper, those two documents exist and ours does not.

What our platform answers that a module list does not

A module catalogue tells you what the vehicle can carry. It does not tell you who approves the sale, who holds the software keys, or whether the spares keep arriving in year six. Our platform is offered by an independent maker through a non-aligned channel, with sustainment held in region. For a ministry that has watched capability frozen by a supplier's foreign policy, that is not a soft factor.

One control layer across ground and air

Rheinmetall reaches interoperability through NATO standards, which is the right answer inside NATO. Outside it, standards compliance still leaves you integrating a ground controller with whatever flies overhead. Our ground platform is driven from the same command layer as its air systems, which removes an integration programme rather than documenting one.

Questions buyers ask

What is the best alternative to the Rheinmetall Mission Master for a buyer outside NATO?

Mission Master is a mature family with published figures: 1,000 kg payload on all three chassis, 40 to 70 km/h, and 54 km to 600 km of range by variant. Outside NATO the friction is usually licensing and the political conditions on later support, not the engineering. Our modular ground platform covers the same ground-support role with field-swapped modules and autonomous navigation under operator override, from an independent maker, sustained in region. Compare the two on module fit first, then on what each supplier can promise about year six.

How does our modular ground platform compare with Milrem's THeMIS on mission flexibility?

Milrem publishes the deeper module catalogue today, including weaponised, mortar, casualty support, observation and a separate rescue line with fire monitors and water skids. Our advantage is not module count but the control architecture: the same command layer as the air systems, so one operating picture covers both. If your requirement is a specific published module such as an ATGM mount or a 3,000 LPM fire monitor, Milrem can show it on paper. If your requirement is one unmanned architecture across ground and air with no political strings, that is our case.

Do modular unmanned ground platforms need armour?

It depends on the route. Rheinmetall publishes integrated ballistic protection for internal key components with optional STANAG 4596 Level 1 or 2, which tells you their customers ask for it on resupply runs under fire. Milrem's catalogue table does not state a protection level. Our platform's protection level is not published, so treat it as a question to put in writing rather than an assumption either way.

Which matters more when buying a ground robot: payload or control range?

For resupply, payload and range decide the task, and the published field is 1,000 to 1,270 kg with 54 km to over 1,000 km depending on drivetrain. For reconnaissance and hazardous work, the control link decides it. Milrem is the only one of the three vendors here that publishes a control range, up to 10 km, with AES256 and frequency hopping. Any vendor that will not state its link budget, encryption and jamming behaviour is asking you to buy on trust.
