Acquiring capability free of US International Traffic in Arms Regulations controls and their downstream conditions.
ITAR-free procurement means acquiring defence capability that is not subject to the United States' International Traffic in Arms Regulations. ITAR-controlled equipment can carry re-export restrictions, disclosure requirements and usage conditions set by a foreign government. Sourcing from independent, non-aligned manufacturers avoids those downstream conditions, giving the buyer greater freedom of action and control over their own capability.
In practice
When a buyer asks Unstrat to source ITAR-free, the aim is freedom of action: capability that carries no foreign re-export veto, disclosure demand or usage condition attached by another government. Unstrat represents independent, non-aligned manufacturers, so a defence or critical-infrastructure programme is not exposed to conditions that could later constrain how, where or with whom the capability is used. That independence is a genuine operational advantage. It protects the mission from decisions made in a distant capital and keeps ownership of the capability firmly with the buyer. As a single accountable channel rather than a distributor, Unstrat confirms the control status up front so there are no surprises after delivery. Localisation arrangements are scoped per programme, subject to export controls and end-use approvals.
