What is an interceptor drone?
An interceptor drone is an unmanned aircraft launched to close on a hostile drone and defeat it in the air, by capture, collision or a warhead. It answers the case that jamming cannot: a target with no live link to break. Ours is an AI-assisted interceptor published at 200 km/h with an intercept range of up to 2.5 km, up to 15 minutes of endurance and a ceiling of 4,000 m above ground level.

How fast do counter-drone interceptors need to be?
Faster than the thing they are chasing, which sounds obvious until you read the datasheets. Fortem is explicit that the DroneHunter F700 switches from attack to defence mode above 25 m/s, roughly 90 km/h, and that covers most targets worth intercepting. Wild Hornets solved speed with 280 km/h and a warhead, spending the airframe every time. Ours flies at 200 km/h with operator-assisted engagement and can break off and return.
Interceptor drone versus jammer: which should we buy?
Both, for different targets. A jammer costs nothing per shot and is the economical answer to link-dependent commercial drones. An interceptor engages the airframe regardless of what its radio is doing, which is the only reliable answer to autonomous and fibre-controlled attack. A defence that can only do one of these has a gap the attacker will find.

Reusable or expendable interceptor drones for base defence?
It depends on what your alarms turn out to be. A reusable interceptor wins where most contacts are hobby drones, because an aborted intercept costs battery rather than an airframe; Fortem publishes reload in under three minutes and a 75-minute recharge, which sets the sortie rate. Expendable interceptors win against strike drones worth far more than the interceptor. Ours is built for repeated use with mission abort and return-to-launch.
Counter-drone interceptor that works when GPS is jammed
Ours is stated to operate in RF- and GPS-denied conditions, day and night, and to be swarm compatible. Fortem publishes AES-128 or AES-256 link encryption, which protects the link but is not a denied-navigation claim, and Wild Hornets publishes ELRS control, which is also a link rather than a navigation solution. Whichever vendor you shortlist, make denied-navigation behaviour a tested acceptance criterion rather than a brochure line.
Interceptor drone for stadium and public event protection
Over a crowd, the question is what falls afterwards. Net capture with a drogue chute is the low-collateral option and Fortem builds its case on exactly that. Interceptor drone for pipeline and oil field protection over long frontages
Long linear assets are a sensing problem first: you cannot put an interceptor everywhere, so the sensors decide where it launches from. Ours reaches up to 2.5 km per intercept with up to 15 minutes of endurance and a 4,000 m ceiling, which suits defended nodes with detection pushed forward rather than free patrol of a whole corridor. Ukraine's interceptors are the proven answer to Shahed-type drones. Can a non-aligned state actually buy them, and what is the alternative?
STING's specification is impressive and its production is committed to a war: 280 km/h, an 18.5 km tactical radius with return, expendable with a 500 g payload and remote detonation. Domestic demand is the first call on that output. Our interceptor is available to non-aligned buyers and supported where it is used, with the honest caveat that we publish 200 km/h and 2.5 km. If the requirement is deep interception of cruise-profile drones, say so early and we will scope the extended-range platform instead.

What is the cost per engagement of an interceptor drone against a cheap attack drone, and how do we keep that exchange sensible?
Layer it. Put a low-cost-per-shot option in front of an assured kinetic backstop, so the expensive effector is spent only on targets that earn it. Our rules of engagement require a human decision before any kill. Does an AI-assisted interceptor comply?
Ours is built for that constraint. AI accelerates detection, tracking and target lock; the operator retains mission control and makes the engagement decision, with mission abort and return-to-launch available at any point. Fortem's F700 by contrast selects its own attack, defence or pursue mode from relative speed, which is elegant and means the aircraft chooses. Where a track might be civilian, that difference is the whole procurement argument.
What does the interceptor weigh, how long does it take to turn around between sorties, and how long to train an operator?
We publish speed, range, endurance, altitude and payload, and we do not publish take-off weight, operating temperature, turnaround time or training duration for the interceptor. Those are open gaps and we list them as such. For benchmarking, Fortem publishes 18 kg, -10 °C to +50 °C, reload in under three minutes and a 75-minute recharge, and Wild Hornets publishes six days of training or two for qualified FPV operators.
